Estonia

Overview

We are the only recruitment agency operating in Estonia that focuses solely on the life sciences sector. Our team has been recruiting in the Estonian market since 2007 and amassed a vast local market knowledge through close co-operation with the local subsidiaries of the world’s leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies.

We made our first placement in Estonia back in June 2012 and have been a leading player in the Estonian life science recruitment market ever since. Currently, Estonia amounts to over 40% of all our placements made in the Baltic States, with the most significant demand for Tallinn based commercial roles.

Over two-thirds of our recruitment assignments in Estonia are in pharmaceutical marketing and sales, followed by nearly a third in medical affairs and market access. The remaining searches include clinical operations, regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance.

Life Sciences in Estonia

In 2016 the pharmaceutical market in Estonia grew by 9.3% and reached €290 million in size. Domestic production of pharmaceutical products is minimal, so there is a substantial presence of foreign multinationals.

Estonia’s medical device market size is limited due to its small population of 1.3 million people. Nearly 80% of the medical device market is supplied by imports from western suppliers and distributed via local or regional distribution companies. Very few international manufacturers have direct representation or presence in Estonia or Baltics in general, which makes recruiting of highly skilled workforce very challenging. The country also has its own small domestic production sector, though it tends to concentrate on exports either to Europe or CIS countries. Health Board’s (Terviseamet) medical devices department is a local authority responsible for implementing and enforcing regulations of medical devices in Estonia.

Andrius knows what he is doing and it is always a pleasure doing business with that kind of people. He has also that something what everybody do not has to find right people for the right position. I would definitely recommend him.

Leena RappuProduct ManagerAbbVie

I have to say that I was very positively surprised after my cooperation with Andrius. The main reason is that as a job seeker you usually do the interview with the recruiter and after that you are kind of left without getting proper feedback what went successfully and what not. And that is exactly what differentiate for me the cooperation with Andrius – I felt that everything was very constructive, always got the feedback and have been offered for the help to prepare for the interviews. I had a feeling that the recruiter stands not only on the side of the employer but also on the side of the job seeker. Thank you!
